Ridgecrest thus assumed the league lead with a 5-1 record for the second half. It also set the stage for a battle royal with Friendship Chapel on Friday evening, July 23. If your favorite didn’t make the grade, we’re sorry. But these are the players who received the highest number of votes. In the case of outfielders and pitchers the two pitchers receiving the highest number of votes were named on the first team and the same system was used for outfielders. The fans named Lee Marett and Doyle Turner for all outfield po sitions, left, center and right. Souther, min ister of music and religious edu cation, First Baptist church, Dal las, Texas, is chorister for this session; Mrs. George A. Hammon, Festus, Missouri, and Earl Will iam Miller, Fort Worth, Texas, will be the pianists. The open ing message, “Through Tension To Triumph,” will be delivered at 8:45 Thursday night Jby Dr. 0. T. Binkley who is to bring each of the evening messages. Saturday night, the young peo ple’s speakers tournament occurs; the speakers represent Arizona, the District of Columbia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Vir ginia, and Florida. Famous Lecturer Here Sunday Mrs. Indpk Pahk will be heard at both the morning and evening services at the Methodist church Sunday. She will speak Sunday morning at 11:00 o’clock and in the evening at 8:00. A speaker who has appeared before audiences around the world, Mrs. Pahk is a native of Korea and is employed in that country by the American military government. She is sponsored in Black Mountain by the interde nominational council of church women. The public is invited to hear these lectures. MRS. NORDHIELM HOSTESS TO ACTIVITIES CLUB The Black Mountain Activities club met with their president, Mrs. B. E. Nordhielm on July 13, at 8 p. m. After the regular business meet ing the hostess gave a very in teresting review of Pearl Buck’s “Portrait of. a Marriage.” The club then enjoyed an hour of fun, followed with refreshments. Members present were Mrs. E. K. Brake, Mrs. James Brittian, Mrs. R. M. Crowder, Mrs. William Ellington, Mrs. Robert Free, Mrs. A. C. Garland, Mrs. W. C. Honey cutt, Mrs. L. C.
