I , Id: ■ \FTER 39 YEARS Mrs. J. O. Williams was sur prised Monday when a friend whom she had not seen for 39 .ears paid her a visit. Mrs. Frances Fuller Lasher and her husband were enroute to their home in Cleveland, Ohio, from Florida, rhey were only a few miles apart when the Williamses were spend ing their vacation in Melbourne, Fla., but neither knew the other was there. HOME FROM ATLANTA Mrs. Clifford Porter returned home Sunday after spending the winter in Atlanta with Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Stillwell, and Dr. and Mrs. A. P. McDonald, Allan, Ilobhv, and Paul Porter. Mr. and Mrs. Stillwell brought her home and returned to Atlanta Sunday afternoon. 10 DAYS IN MARION Mrs. J. O. Williams returned Sunday night from Marion where she spent 10 days with her daugh ter and grandchildren, Mrs. J. K. Wilkinson, Dorothy Jean, and Janies Jr. Mr. Wilkinson had made a trip to Florida to bring members of his family home. MISSION FOR NAVY Mrs. Douglas Jones and Mrs. Emory Whitaker of Swannanoa made a trip to Norflok, Va., over the week end to bring Mrs. Jack MiLbee and small son, Micheal, home for a visit with relatives and friends, while Mr. Milbee is in Bermuda on a mission for the Navy. ATTEND MEETING Members from the Methodist Youth Fellowship attended the an nual sub-district Youth Fellow ship banquet at the Elkwood Methodist church, Asheville, Mon day night, March 12. They were accompanied by Mrs. Douglas Jones, counsellor, and Mrs. Finley Stepp. AWAY THIS WEEK Mrs. Clarence Wilson and child ren, Sandra and Jerry, are spend ing this week with Mrs. Wilson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Martin in Williamsburg, Va. THURSDAY IN SALISBURY Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dougherty, Norman and Teresa, spent last Thursday in Salisbury visiting re latives.
