Mrs. Reva Hinkle, & ORDER UNITED American mechanics Bf PW CLUB MAKES BINGO PARTY PLANS The Business and Professional Womens Club met Monday even ing, April 23, at the home of Mrs. Maidee Love. Miss Louise Sloan, president, presided. Plans were made for the benefit bingo party to be held Friday, May 4, at the Black Mountain club house. Any individual or business firm wish ing to contribute prizes toward this project may leave them at the Rug and Jug Shop. Prizes will not be solicited and any donation will be greatly appreciated. Miss Pauline Tipton, chairman of the vocation and guidance com mittee, spoke briefly on the duties and purposes of the committee. Mrs. Charles Maydwell, using a slide projector, showed her col lection of pictures on Brazil. Mrs. Henry Franklin has for her guests her daughter, Mrs. Ray F. Moore and granddaugh ter, Caroline, of Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Moore spent a week with them and returned to Memphis last week. Mrs. Moore and daughter will leave Thursday. OLD FORT W. W. LeFevre and Roy Mc Daniel, members of Joppa lodge at Old Fort, are attending the session of the Grand lodge which is being held this week at Chapel Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Lesle Gardner of Chicago are spending this week at their country home on the Bat Cave road near Old Fort. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nadine and children and Mrs. Claude Jolly visited their relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Duncan in Spruce Pine last week end. Mrs. Dan Adams Jr., and daugh ter, Shelia, have returned to Old Fort after a two weeks’ visit in Charleston, S. C., at the home of Mrs. Adams’ mother, Mrs. J. R. Simmons. Mrs. Annie Keith and son, Oscar Keith, of Cincinnati, spent last week visiting relatives in Old Fort. Mrs. W. S. Burgin and the Keiths are visiting relatives at Mt. Olive, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Vess, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Vess, Lloyd and Douglas Vess, have returned from a three days’ visit at Kingsport, Tenn. They were joined at Kings port by Miss Lora Vess for a trip to Natural Bridge, Va. The condition of Mrs. J. N. Nesbitt who recently suffered a fractured limb, and a patient at Marion General hospital, is re ported as satisfactory. The Rev. J. H. Eades, pastor of First Church of Nazarene of Charlotte is assisting the pastor, the Rev. M. H. Harvey, in a series of meetings at Wesleyan Methodist church at Old Fort. The services begin each evening at 7:30. David Jolly has returned to De troit, Mich., after a week’s visit at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Jolly. ELECTED SUPERINTENDENT Blue Mountain, Miss., Apr. 18— Miss Mary Louise Rice, Black Mountain, has been elected Sunday School superintendent on the Bap tist Student Union Council of Blue Mountain college for the session 1951-52.
