NEWS FROM
BROAD RIVER
CHURCH I
It was announced last Sunday
that the regular Sunday afternoon
singings would begin again, now
that the church has new song
books and most of the people
around Broad River like to be able
to get together and sing. The
writer is delighted with the fine
turnout during the past few Sun
days. We think people are becom
ing more and more concerned
about the work.
The new pews are coming along
fine. We ikiave almost one side
of the auditorium seated now.
There is an all-day working
set for Saturday, August 4, at the
church for the purpose of clear
ing out some underbrush and
building new picnic tables now
that the “old fashioned homecom
ing and decoration day” is com
ing up soon. August 12 to be
exact. A big day is expected. The
Rev. W. C. Huntley of Balfour,
N. C., will be the speaker in the
afternoon. Some special singers
will be there too.
We are still in need of means
to continue our work on the
church house and pews, and we
believe there are people in the
Broad River section who want to
work and give, so let’s be pre
pared to make a nice contribution
on the “Big Day,” August 12.
Everyone is invited to bring a
well-filled basket and come. All
special singers are invited. This
invitation goes for our editor, Mr.
Greenwood, too. Bring your cam
era and come enjoy the goodness
of the Master with us.
