Wesleyan Service (Juild Enjoys Christmas Party A Christmas propram and party Were special features of the Wes leyan Service (luild meetinp Mon day eveninp at the home of Mrs. A. W. McDouple, with Mrs. Bes teie Carr as co-hostess. Mrs. Harry Hyder, assisted by Mrs. Worth Burgess, presented several Christmas stories taken from the Books of Luke and Mark. After the program, gifts were exchanged and games played. The hostesses invited the guests in to the dining room where the table was attractivly decorated in the Christmas motif. Artists lieairue To Hold Exhibition Dec. 1 to 15 The Asheville Artists League is having an exhibition of paint inps by its members at the office of the Carolina Power and Light Co. on Patton avenue in Asheville. Among the paintings in oil is a picture of Homer's chapel, Bap tist church located on the North Fork road, near the Black Moun tain golf course. Also shown will he a snow seem in Montreal, painted in oils. Both were painted on the location of each of these scenes. These two local subjects ure by Elizabeth White of Sumter, S. C., who is more often than not a summer resident of Black Mountain. Also represented is Virginia Hill, nurst of W.N.C. Sanatorium, who is exhibiting a portrait of a small boy. Painting is Miss Hill’s hobby. The public is invited to view this exhibition, which will be shown from Dec. 1 to Dec. 15 in clusive. H. I). Club Has Program On Sewing Miss Helen Miles very inter estingly discussed and demon strated “The Professional Touches In Sewing” at the November meeting of the Home Demonstra tion Club Monday, Nov. 2f>, at the home of Mrs. Morris Gard ner. Plans for the club's Christ mas party to be held Dec. 17 at the home of Mrs. Charles Clev enger were made. Following the meeting a social hour was enjoyed with refresh ments served by the hostess. Those attending were: Mrs. A. W. Hemphill, Mrs. Garland Stepp, Mrs. W. I). Hyatt, Mrs. Herman Holdway. SOCIAL MEETING The Junior American Citizens, seventh grade students at Black Mountain elementary school, met Tuesday for their first social meeting of the year.
