Stokes and children, Ben Jr., and Carelton of Charlotte, spent a short time with their aunts, Mrs. Mellinger Henry and the Misses Stokes at their home on Virginia road this past Miss Mary Rogers of Quarry ville, Pa., is the guest of Miss Florence Illidge at her home on Mississippi road. Miss Rogers was formerly a missionary to India. Mr. and Mrs. James Hall, who were critically injured in an auto accident last week, are in a hos pital in Chester, S. C., where their condition is reported slightly im proved. Mrs. Charles Watkins of Ander son, S. C., spent the week end at her home “Chimney Nook” on Virginia road. Miss Elizabeth Sloan and her friend, Miss Winnie Grier, spent some time at Miss Sloan’s sum mer home on Virginia road. The Rev. C. W. Solomon is spending some time in Texas. A. Kerlee, with Mrs. E. J. Anthony as as sistant hostess. Mrs. Fannie Fitz gerald, president, presided. Mem bers voted to donate $10 to the Black Mountain High school home economics class, to be used as they see fit. Mrs. Ray Harrison and Mrs. Clifford Porter are in charge of this particular project. Following the meeting, the guests were invited into the din ing room where refreshments were served from a beautifully decorated tea table. Those pre sent were Mrs. J. B. Hurt, Mrs. Mary E.
