MISS HENSLEY— From Page 1. This Sec. Willard Hussey served as his brother’s best man and ushers were Richard Sides and Kiah Ferguson of Swannanoa. Mrs. Hensley, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue dress with navy and white accessories and a corsage of white carnations. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue suit with navy accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Following the ceremony an in formal reception was held in the home of the bride’s parents for members of the wedding party. Assisting at the reception were Miss Mary Alice LeMaster and Mrs. L. I. Woods, aunt of the bride. After the reception the couple left by motor for a wedding trip to Eastern North Carolina. For traveling the bride wore a white and navy faille suit with navy and white accessories and camellias from her bouquet. The bride attended Swannanoa High school and Western Caro lina Teachers college, and is at present employed at Swannanoa Bank and Trust Co. Mr. Hussey attended High Point High school and N. C. State col lege where he majored in fores try, and is now employed by the State Highway Patrol. Upon their return from their wedding trip the couple will re side in Swannanoa. Out-of-town guests present for the ceremony included Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Penland of Burnsville, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Silvers of Old Fort, Mrs. Ossie Wright, Mrs. W. A. Hussey and Willard of High Point, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Daw kins and daughter, Nancy, of Emma. Christian Creek Baptist Church Closes Revival Christian Creek Baptist church of which the Rev. J. T. Dotson is pastor, has recently closed a two weeks’ revival meeting which was conducted by the Rev. Maurice Banks of Weaverville. Thirty-four souls decided for Christ in this meeting and the church is greatly blessed and re vived. A baptizing will be held on North Fork creek near Grove Stone plant next Sunday after noon. Everyone is invited to at tend. Anyone who is not sure of where this place is located will please come to the church before 2 p.m. and wait there for further instruction. It is hoped that the Rev. Mr. Banks will be present. The Rev. Mr. Dotson wishes to invite everyone not going else where to attend our service. We feature good singing every Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Come and "Bring your singers.” Mrs. Evelyn Brown Honored With Shower Mrs. Evelyn Brown was honored with a stork shower at the home of Mrs. Harvey Massey on May 9. Games were enjoyed by all. An aunt of Mrs. Brown won a lovely door prize. Refreshments were served and several favors were won by guests. Guests were: Mrs. Maybell Quinn, mother of the honoree, Mrs. Parn ell Carpenter, Mrs. Alice Phillips, Mrs. Faye Massey, Miss Jean Phillips, Miss Rhonda Massey, Mrs. Belle Hoffsta'fle, Mrs. Ethel Mar rie, 2 great aunts of the honoree Aunt Bessie and Aunt Mattie, and the honoree. Those not present but who sent gifts: Ruth Quinn, Jessie Phillips, Mrs. Bill Brown and Mrs. Keyken dall. CHICKEN BARBECUE Mr. and Mrs. W. W. White en tertained with a chicken barbecue at their outside grill last Satur day and Sunday evenings. Satur day night guests included Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Holman Jr., Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Greene, Mr. and Mrs. John Ramsay, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Lance, Dr. and Mrs. S. S. Cooley and Otty Leeman. Sunday night guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ash by McCoy, and Dr. and Mrs. A. E.
