Mr. and Mrs. Townsend Hay of Last Resort returned home last, week from a visit with relatives and friend in Youngstown and Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. L. D. Hayman, Jr., and children are spending several weeks at Carolina Beach. Dr. Hayman will join his family at the beach this week end. The Lions Club broom sale which ended 60 days ago is of ficially over. Pappy Morrow has w ashed his window. Nancy Kester was awarded the Rector medal at Chatham Hall, Va., during commencement exer cises. This is the highest honor given by Chatham Hall. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Giard and Kenny will leave Friday for a two weeks' vacation in the North. Donnv Giard will leave this week end for a visit with the Ray Warner family in Aiken, S. C. Don McDougle and John Buck ner will leave Thursday (today) for Camp Daniel Boone near Can ton where they will serve on the staff for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hand left Monday for Cape May, N. J., where they will spend the summer. Misses Susan and Mary Hooker returned last week from a week’s visit with their brother, Octavious Hooker and family in Durham. Mrs. R. L. Allen and sister, Miss Lucy Alexander, went as far as Charlotte with them and visited for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Will man of Conneaut, Ohio, will ar rive Thursday (today) for a visit with Mrs. Willman’s sister, Mrs. Charles Mertle, Blue Ridge road. Mrs. J. P. Ashley and grand daughter, Lee Ashley Tiller, ar rived last Thursday from Lake land, Fla. Lee Tiller drove them up and went on to Lakeside, Ohio, where he will be joined by Mrs. Tiller and Lee Ashley at a later date. The Tillers will spend the summer at Lakeside. Cecil Nanney arrived home over the week end from Berea college and will be employed at the Black Mountain News this sum mer. The Rev. Winfield Smith will leave Sunday afternoon to spend a week at Appalachian School, Penland. He will return next Fri day night. Sherwood Mull of Berea col lege arrived home Monday night for summer vacation with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Mull. Harold Brown is home from Berea college for summer vacation. Mrs. Lee Tiller will arrive this week end from Durham where she stopped en route from Florida to visit her brother and sister-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ashley. Mr. and Mrs. J. Dean Stout and daughter, Mary Jane, of Richmond, Va., arrived last Wednesday even ing for a visit in the home of Mr. Stout’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Stout, Montreat road. Mr. and Mrs. John Turbyfill, F.enny and Arthur, moved Wednes day to Haw Creek to make their home. Look Who’s Here! Huney cutt announce the birth of a daughter May 30 at the Victoria hospital. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Stubbs of Montreat have a daughter born May 30 at St. Joseph’s hospital. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brad ley a daughter June 1 at St. Joseph’s hospital. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Heiser of Thomasville, N. C., announce the birth of a son May 31. Mrs. Heiser is the former Miss Sara McDougle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W.
