Ralph Ownbey, who is attend
ing radio school in Clarksville,
Ga., is spending two weeks’ va
cation with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. R. G. Ownbey and sisters,
Alice and Edna, in this commun
ity.
Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Elliott had
as guests Mr. Elliott’s brothers
last Sunday afternoon.

Rutherfordton and Noah Elliott
and son, Hardy, and Cola Kesler
of Drayton, S. C., Mr. and Mrs.
Ormon Parker and daughter, Gold
ie, of Mill Springs, visited Mrs.
Parker’s mother, Mrs. Nan Nelon
and Mrs. Parker’s brother, Joe
Nelon and family and sister Ruby
last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sharp and
Mrs. Maggie (Mother) Craig visited
Mrs. Craig’s son and his wife, Mr.
and Mrs. Fletcher Craig and fam
ily last Sunday.
There was a large attendance
at the homecoming at Clear Branch
P. H. church Sunday. Plenty of
food was served to everyone. The
afternoon was spent in singing
and speaking. Rev. Berkly Pryer,
Rev. Granville Kilby and Rev.
Thurl Taylor delivered interesting
messages. A good day was enjoyed
by everyone.
Mr. and Mrs. Rector Ledbetter,
their daughter and friends, visited
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ownbey last
Sunday afternoon.
Clifford Knipe of the U. S. Army
who has been in Korea, has re
turned to the States and is spend
ing his furlough with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Knipe, on
Broad River.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ownbey
had as dinner guests last Sunday,
Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Ownbey and
children of Flat Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Marlowe
and children of Marion visited
relatives on Broad River last Sun
day.
Mrs. Flossy Vess, who spent
several days in Marion hospital,
returned to her home much im
proved last Saturday.
