Hard'are, Lumber Company Winners Of Opening Games The Grove Stone and Hardware nines played the first full game of the community Softball league season on July 1. The Hardware, with Waters scattering seven hits over the route, downed the Stonemen, 8-3. In the windup of the evening Black Mountain Lumber company scored four runs in the third to cinch a 7-3 victory over Camp Ridgecrest. The score of the opener was tied at one apiece, when Ted Hol man’s Hardware boys broke the game wide open with a five run blast in the fourth. Two walks, two errors and a fielder’s choice put Everette Stephenson, Grove Stone hurler. in the hole. Waters led the stickwork with three for three.
