The Rev. Donald E. Williams helped with a young people’s con ference at Lake Refuge near Old Fort last week. Miss Eleanor Padgett left over the week end for Florida after a visit with her mother, Mrs. J. A. Padgett. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Vernon, Jr., and Tommy of Aiken, S. C.. spent the week end with their families, the W. T. Wrights and the W. E. Vernons, Sr. Harry Wheelon of Cleveland, Ohio, is visiting his mother, Mrs. M. E. Wheelon. Mrs. Ruth Westbrook has re turned home after spending some time in New Jersey and Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gudger and daughters of Atlanta spent the holidays with Mr. Gudger’s mother, Mrs. J. A. Gudger and brother Bill. Miss Mary Wullner of Peoria, 111., arrived Monday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. George W. Dougherty and Bill. Miss Wullner is Mrs. Dougherty’s aunt. Mrs. E. G. Griffin has as her guests for a few days her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David H. Brown of Woodland. The Browns are attending the confer ence at Blue Ridge. Mrs. Bert Howard of Ormond Beach, Fla., is visiting her sister, Mrs. George Wrenn and children, for a few days.
