The road crew building the new Bat Cave road left for their homes last Saturday for a two week’s holiday vacation. They plan to complete the grading in six more weeks after their vacation if weather permits. The trucking crews are laying down crushed rock on the road from the Black Moun tain road to the Bald Mountain road so the school bus and the mail can get over the road. The new bridge across Broad River is ready for pouring the cement, but owing to the freezing weather we are having it has to be postponed for the present. Perry Dies At 69 Following Long Illness Funeral services for E. J. Per ry, 69, were conducted in Black Mountain Sunday at 3 p. m. by the Rev. Wilbur A. Huneycutt, pastor of the First Baptist church. The deceased was borr. in Ter quimans County, N. 0., and was the son of the late Dr. A. Perry. He had been living near Black Mountain for a long time, but for the last several years had been in poor health. He was buried in Tabernacle cemetery. Pallbearers were: M. J. Robertson, T. S. Sharp, D. F. Tay lor, George Taylor, T. E. Lawson and John Runion. He is survived by one brother, E. A. Perry of this county.
