M. Wood. The directors voted to hold all advertising until fall in an ef fort to prolong the season through October, “best time of all in Western North Carolina.” Dr. S. S. Cooley, chairman of the road committee, told the group that he hoped to arrange a meet ing some time within the near future with state and parkway officials to discuss the proposed “Sea to Sky” highway from Black Mountain to Mt. Mitchell. R. S. Eckles reported on his trip to Roanoke where he repre sented the Chamber of Commerce at the annual meeting of cham ber executives of towns along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Those who wish to see Black Mountain represented on the Charlotte TV station are requested to write Promotion Department, WBTV, Charlotte, N. C. The advantages of living in the town limits were pointed- out: cheaper insurance rate, in many cases, cheaper water rent, fire protection without charge, garb age service, and police protection. In most cases, it was explained, the property owner saves money by being inside the town limits, even though it costs more in taxes. A letter from Edwin Duncan, executive vice president of the Northwestern bank, was read which stated that a new bank building was planned for the town but that it would be at least two or three years before it became a reality. New bank buildings will be constructed this year at Spruce Pine and at West Jefferson. Look Who’s Here! Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Hollifield have a daughter born June 12, in St. Joseph’s hospital.
