Since the orphanages of this state do not place children for adoption, the Children’s Home Society has joined with these in stitutions to give such children their chance to grow up in fam ilies chosen especially for them. Most people do not realize that the great majority of children in orphanages and other child-caring institutions do have "folks” to whom they belong. Folks who love them and remember them on holi days, birthdays and week ends. Oc casionally there is a youngster with NO family ties to give him a special sense of belonging. These are the children who need new homes and grown-ups to love them. A case consultant from the Society visits the persons who are interested in adopting an older child. Thus the Children’s Home Society is able to choose from the homes offered and the child ren who need homes—the parents and the child who seem to need each other most. The Children’s Home Society is the only voluntarily supported, non-sectarian agency licensed to care for babies to find them homes anywhere in N. C. It re ceives no tax funds and makes no charges either to the relatives or to the aoapting parents for its services. Since the Children’s Home So ciety is a project of all Jr. Wom en's clubs in N. C., both the American Home and Civic club and the Jr. Woman’s club of Black Mountain are most interested in the support of this Society through the United Appeal. Won’t you remember when you give to give a little for the "little ones”? More Reflections From Page 1 11. Promise Them Nothing Next Time.
