C Church Sees 1957 As Year of Growth Mrs. Anton Kroulik of Old Fort, the Dorcas Welfare Society lead er for the Seventh-day Adventist church in Marion, completed her report for the church members this week. Included in her report were the following items: 1,450 pieces of clothing and 35 food baskets worth $4 each were given away; 510 persons were helped; and a total of $349.96 was donated to local welfare in cash. Prospects are bright for new church growth in the new year, according to reports given by lead ers of the congregation. Review of church activities for the year 1956 showed gains in many lines. The treasurer, Mrs. W. P. War ren, expressed appreciation for the faithfulness of members in the giving of tithes and mission offerings. These amounted to $9,315.73, she reported, which is an increase of $583.03 over the figure for 1955. During 1956 the church sanc tuary was completely redecorated. New oak flooring was laid, and oak pews were installed. Improve ments were also made in the chil dren’s division room, and the grounds were graded and planted in grass. "While material growth is nec essary," Jack Martz, pastor, said, "we are more interested in ad vancement made by every member in personal spiritual growth and faith in God.” 'Phone Company Makes Changes The division of the Southern Bell company’s nine-state opera tions into two administrative or ganizations set up along geograph ical lines and the appointment of three vice presidents to new exe cutive positions were announced Wednesday, Jan. 2, by Ben S.
