This announcement came at a meeting of the board of trustees. Oscar Ivanissevich, Argentine ambassador, after a visit here, wrote: “We still remember our visit to North Carolina; my family and myself have enjoyed it so much and the people were so nice to us that we shall never forget it. Howie Cove Missionary Baptist church had just celebrated its first “Watch night” in the church which was founded with 23 members. Zero was the weather recording on two recent mornings, the low est during a recent cold wave. The thermometer during the week was not above freezing at any time. On account of the frozen ground, snow which fell on Tuesday—about two inches of it—had little chance to melt for several days. CHURCH CIRCLE 4 PLANS SESSION FEB. 3 Circle 4 of the Black Mountain Presbyterian church will meet Monday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Dan Espey. Mrs. Joseph Scannell will lead the Bible study, and Mrs. M. L. Williams will lead the conversational per iod. I Cancer Society Invites Clubs To Request Films New members of the education committee, who will also serve as members of the board during the coming year, will be welcomed at the regular board meeting of the Buncombe County unit, American Cancer society, on Monday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. in the medical library of Memorial Mission hospital. The education committee has sponsored a project of presenting; programs before dubs and organ izations throughout the county, and recently voted to continue this program which has consisted of showings of the society’s newest film, “The Other City,” followed by a question period with one of the doctors on the board present to answer questions. Another project provides for continuance of cancer education in the high schools, and a meeting is planned for science teachers of the county on Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. in the medical library.
