It takes us only five minutes to the station, so we have a minute or so yet.” This only confirmed my belief that it takes strong nerves to live even near the big city. But as 1 pointed out earlier, there are many interesting sights to see in the Big Town and every body should go at least once and find out. It was a great thrill to the boys to see the Queen Mary, gigantic British ocean liner that carried a full division of troops and their equipment during the war at one sailing, making her way down the Hudson from pier 50 toward the open sea. Pier 49 brought back memories of a cold December day several moons back when we pulled up the gangplank of the Dominion Monarch. I looked hard but the DM was nowhere within sight. Even the Red Cross ladies were gone with the doughnuts and cof fee. Believe it or not the most in teresting sight for most of us was not the city, but a dairy barn. At the Walker-Cordon Certified Milk farm at Plainsboro, N. J,, they have reduced the production of milk to a science. On the rotolac tor they milk 1,650 cows twice daily. Milkings are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. The operation is hard to explain but in plain language old bossie comes out of a runway onto a mer ry-go-round and is milked by ma chine while she rides around to the exit which opens into a second tunnel running back to the barn. This is something to see. Even those not the slightest bit inter ested in the dairy industry will like viewing the operation from a pent house. A full explanation of what is going on belowr is given on the wall. We greatly enjoyed our stay with the Tricketts at Princeton Junction.
