Sharp, Chairman Creative Writinp Group TO MY SON Beloved son, Whose face I long to see, Whose hand I long to touch; far from me thou needs must go I search for faith To understand. Thy strong, young body. Thy keen, swift mind, I had not willed for battlefields When in my arms I held thee as a babe. But since thou must, with other sons Bend ’neath the yoke of war; Knowing thy proud and loyal heart I need not pray that thou be brave; Only that God should keep thee safe. And give to me again. Out of the tumult and the strife That men call battle, My beloved son, Whose face I long to see. Whose hand I long to touch. —-Madelon E. Parks, President of the Creative Writing Club.
