Cut each circle in 8 sections or wedges and put about tsp. filling (which has been cooled) on each wedge. Roll up and curve into crescent shape. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Roll in confectioner’s sugar. If desired, cinnamon may be lightly sprinkled on each wedge before rolling. LEMON PIE Mrs. S. A. Young 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water (rind and juice of 1 lemon) to make one cup. 2 tbsp. cornstarch, 2 egg yolks, 1 tbsp. butter. Mix sugar and com starch, stir in egg yolks, add water and butter, cook until thick. Pour into a baked pie shell and top with meringue (2 egg whites). Brown meringue in slow oven. FUDGE PECAN PIE Mrs. W. W. Pharr 2 squares unsweetened chocolate (2 oz.) 2 tbsp. butter. 3 eggs, Vz cup sugar, % cup dark Karo sy rup. 1 cup pecan halves. Heat oven to 375 degrees (quick moderate). Melt together over hot water chocolate, butter. Beat to gether eggs, sugar, chocolate mix ture, syrup. Mix in pecan halves. Pour into 9 in. uncooked pastry lined pan. (Use your favorite pas try receipe). Bake pie 40 or 50 min. just until set. Garnish with whip ped cream when cool. RITZ CRACKER PIE Mrs. H. D. Heat raspberries to boiling in small saucepan over low heat; re move from heat. Soften gelatin in cold water; dis solve in hot berry mixture; chill just until beginning to thicken. Beat cream until stiff; fold into gelatin mixture; fill a 4-cud mold three-quarters full; place cookies around rim of bowl of bowl (or lady fingers), dipping part way into gelatin mixture to hold in place: carefully spoon in remain ing gelatin; chill until firm, pre ferably overnight. To unmold, loosen around edge with spatula: dip bowl quickly in to hot water; shake gently; set serving plate on top; turn upside down; carefully lift off bowl; gar nish with whipped cream and ring of fresh raspberries, when in sea son. if you like. ORANGE POl ROVER CAKE Mrs. Max Woodcock 1 cup shortening, 1 % cups su gar, 3 medium eggs, cups sift ed all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoon making powder, 2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup butter milk, 2 teaspoon vanilla, 1 cup chopped pecans, 1 cup chopped dates, grated peel of 2 oranges. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and cream well. Add e£tgs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt to gether.
