Strangely enough most of it was gone between Asheville and the Virginia line. —R— 1933 CHEVROLET Milton and Austin Dick ens, loyal employees of Mc Murrav Chevrolet company, are very much concerned about how we managed to get a 1933 Chevrolet in the 1930 picture which we pub lished last week. Well, it wasn't easy and few newspapers could do it, but we managed. Mrs. F. H. Richardson found the old picture while cleaning out some drawers at her home recently. Writ ten on the back of the pic ture in clear writing are the words: “Station Workers 1930.” Could it be that Milt and Austin are mistaken? What do you think? -IV OWEN TEAMS The Owen High school teams didn’t win any champ ionships this year but they gave promise of better days ahead. Against North Buncombe in the county tournament the girls found the going rough because of the superior height of the opposition. Gene Byrd needed a tall forward to go with the speed which was a long suit of the I960 Warlas sies. Ralph Singleton’s Warhors es had a far better record than fans expected. They made the mistake of running into Biltmore on the night when the south Asheville team enjoyed its hottest game of the year basketwise and were eliminated in the first round of the tournament. Bill Horne developed /into one of the county’s best and is one of the most outstand ing prospects for college in the Blue Ridge conference. The 1960 teams didn’t win any championships but they took defeat like champions. They played hard during the game but when the dust had settled they offered no alibis. That speaks well for the mem bers of the teams, the coach ing staff, the students, the faculty, and the administra tive heads of the school. 2m Your Son or Daughter . . . will be sure of an education—if you plan for it now with a M 0 N Y Insurance Policy.
