Friends here feel a distinct loss, for Dr. Green was for many years a real part of this church and community. He was truly one of God’s elite. The first med ;eal missionary in Nigeria. Africa, sent by Southern Baptist in 1007, Dr. Green. 1 assisted by his noble wife served there for almost forty years. A citizen of four i countries—England. Canada, U.S.A.. and Nigeria, he was respected, honored, and loved | by all. Had his health permit ted. he would have returned ! to Niger ia in 1901 at govern ment expense to share in in dependence ceremonies there. Now that he is a citizen of that Better Land, we give thanks to God for his witness and ministry here, and are individually grateful for his influence and blessing upon Ridgecrest in his retirement years w'hile he lived among us as our friend. Stepp and Her man arrived at home last Monday after a delightful visit of two weeks in Mobile, Ala., with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stepp and their two little daughters. Letters from Capt. raul Harris, Jr., are full of inter esting data concerning peo ple. customs, scenery, cli mate, and conditions in Ankara, Turkey where he is stationed with the U. S. Air Force. He says the children are picking up the native language and that the whole family enjoys living in that country. Paul Allison left early Monday a.m. for Raleigh to take over a government job as Wild-life Protector. He took special training for this last summer in Chapel Hill and now has received his as signment. He will be station ed in Rocky Mount. Mr. and Mrs. W. 1. Willis are home again after a two week visit in Charlotte and elsewhere. Mrs. Willis spent the entire time in Charlotte with her grandchildren, while Mr. Willis accompanied Dr. and Mrs. Thos. J. M. Burn ette (son-in-law and daugh ter of the Willises) to Chi cago. There Dr. Burnette at tended a medical convention Nov. 25-Dec. 1. while his wife and her father enjoyed sight-seeing in the big city. Their trip included one day's visit to Milwaukee.
