CIVIL SERVICE A new examination has been annuonced by the United States Civil Service Commission for filling the position of Helicopter Pilot, raying $8,045 a year, at the U. S. Army Aviation Center. Fort Rucker, Ala. Persons appointed to these positions will instruct student pilots. No written test is required. To qualify, applicants must hold a currently valid FA A license with Instructor’s rat ing for either rotary wing or fixed wing aircraft. In ad dition, they must have had at least 500 hours at first pilot of rotary wing aircraft. Those who do not hold a FAA rotary wing instructor’s rat ing must be able to acquire this rating within three months after date of en trance on duty. Further information and application forms may be ob tained from many post of fices throughout the country or from the U. S. Civil Ser vice Commission, Washing ton 25, I).
