in the Spartanburg Hospital
for a serious operation.

Rev. Henry Powell Asso

Our revival starts Monday
night, October 16. Everybody
is invited. Visiting Evange

Lackeytown Baptist Church.
As dinner guests Sunday
we had Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mc
Peters and two small children
of Swannanoa along with
Bill’s father Sam McPeters.
Paying us a short “how do
you do?” was our grandson,
Raymond Vess, and his girl
friend, Lillian Ricker, of near
Old Fort.
During late afternoon came
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Walk
er, Judy, Muriel, Leon and
Mrs. Ben Walker, an aunt.
We had an enjoyable visit.
Almost everyone that comes
i wants a mess of turnip greens.
Someone asked Jimmy why
he sowed such a patch of
turnips. He answered, “So
my neighbors can get turnip
greens.”
Sunday evening Mr. and
Mrs. Emory Vess dropped in
to see how we were getting
along. Emory cuts down
trees on my place, saws them
up, and hauls the blocks in
for my wood. I always love
to see him.
