Miss Lynda McGraw of Blacksburg, Va., and Miss Bar bara McGraw of San Francisco recently spent a few days with their mother, Mrs. John G. McGraw, Jr. Barbara made the trip by plane. Dr. E. H. Behre, Laurel Lane Black Mountain, is going to loan a painting by the late Will Henry Stevens to the Asheville Art Museum during an exhi bition of Mr. Stevens’ work. The picture was given to Dr. Behre’s brother and sister in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Behre of New Orleans, by the artist. After their death, Dr. Behre inherited the painting. A daugh ter of the well known artist is i resident oi Asheville. Mrs. Jack Kelly, Jr., ofSwan nanoa received the decorations earned by her late son, Mar ine Corporal James O. Wea ver, who died in Vietnam on Dec. 11, 1968. Among the de corations were the Purple Heart Medal, the Purple Heart Cer tificate, the National Defense Service Medal with one star, the Republic of Vietnam Cam paign Medal and the Gold Star t^apel Button to be worn by Wrs. Kelly. The seven millionth home loan was guaranteed by the V e t e r a n s Administration during December 1968. Davis Awarded Rangers Award Donald W. Davis of the Wood men Rangers was awarded the plaque for the highest merit in Western North Carolina. The plaque was presented by Mr. W. D.
