BEE TREE CHRISTIAN CHURCH A church building in any community is evidence that there are people of faith living in that community. Driving through our land, one sees churches in every town, and in the open country. Wherever these buildings lift their spires toward heaven, and open their doors, they speak silently of the people who want to pray and worship together. Church buildings, then, though simple as the one pictured above, become monuments to Christian faith, and thus become tokens of Christian character and life. This Church is in the Bee Tree Community, four miles north of Swannanoa, lying at the headwaters of Bee Tree Creek, and hud dling against the Craggy Mountains. The Church here was founded in 1873, under the leadership of Rev. Star. Later, in 1879, the Church came into permanent organization with Rev. Ashley S. Johnson as Pastor. On March 14, 1902, the property where the Church now stands was deeded to the Board of Education. A building was then erected which served as a school house and church until October 29, 1924, when it was deeded to Bee Tree Christian Church. Since thaV time, improvements have beenmade tothe old building, and in 1960 a new sanctuary was built. Sunday School is held each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Worship, including the Fellowship of the Lord's Table, is at 11 a.m. Bible Study at 7:30 p.m. "In all thy ways acknowledge God, and He will direct thy paths."
