Mr. Beust moved to Black Mountain fourteen years ago following his retirement in Bridgeport, Conn. He was a native of New Albany, Ind. A 50 year Mason, he was a member of the Jeff I,. Nelson Lxtdge no. 605 of Tryon. N. C. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne E. H. Beust of the home, a son Carl B. Swannanoa is in charge of arrangements Mrs. John C. Burgin Mrs. Argyll Murray Burgin, 86, of 107 Highway 70, Swan nanoa, died Friday, Sept. 24, in an Asheville nursing home after a long illness. She was a native of Bun combe County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Hester Hawkins Merrill and widow of John C. Burgin who died June. 1972. She was a member of Swannanoa United Methodist Church. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Penland and Sons Funeral Home in Swannanoa. The Rev. David Moore of ficiated with burial in Berea Baptist Church Cemetery. William DeHart William “Mack” McKinley DeHart, 75, Rt. 1 Swannanoa, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, in an Asheville hospital after a short illness. A native of Swain County, he had lived in Buncombe County for the past 45 years. He was a retired employee of Beacon Manufacturing Co., having retired in 1965 after 30 years of service. Cooper Services for Robert Noah Cooper. 66, of 206 Altamahaw Ave., who died Monday, Sept. 20, in a Black Mountain Hospital were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Broad River Baptist Church. The Revs. Paul Dotson and J. C. Craig officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Dean, Ronnie and Randy Halford, Cecil Owensby and Ray and Harold Conner. A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Cooper was a retired employe of Tyson Furniture Co. The use of a caisson as a hearse, for example, was ob viously improvised in com bat . The flag draped casket memorializes occasions when there was nothing but a flag in which to enshroud a dead soldier. Today these, and similar practices, are hal lowed in military tradition. Honeycutt Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in Morris Funeral Chapel for Chester A. Honeycutt, Sr., 83, formerly of 40 Cumberland Circle, who died Tuesday in an Asheville hospital after a long illness. The Revs. Dan Swink and E. H. Blackard officiated. Burial was in Tabernacle Church Cemetery, Black Mountain. Pallbearers were W. T., O.H. and Robert Goodson, William Peyton, Mack Allen and Ar thur Sharpe. Mr. Honeycutt was former president and general manager of Williams Brownell Planning Mill and Hardwood Cumber Co. in Biltmore. He was a native of Marshall and was a son of the late John and Coduska Tweed Honeycutt, and the husband of Wilena Goodson Honeycutt, who died July 4th, 1976. He attended Tusculum College in Greenevillc, Tenn., and was former vice-president and general manager of the English Cumber Co. until his retirement in 1963. He then operated a wholesale lumber business for several years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Asheville Executive Club, ther Asheville Kiwanis Club, and the Applachian Hardwood Cumbermen’s Association. Surviving are a son, C. Arthur Honeycutt, Jr. of High Point; a daughter, Mrs. Anne H. Dial of Walnut Grove, Ga.; and five grandchildren. William Cook Williams Ernest Cook, 69, of 536 New Haw Creek Road, died Tuesc !v, Sept. 21, in an Asheville hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Ohio and a resident of Asheville for 60 years. He was an employe of Sayles-Biltmore Bleacheries for 31 years. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Margaret Melton Cook; a son. James B. Police Report The Black Mountain Police Department conducted 18 investigations last week. They also had two B&E and 1 at tempted larceny. They arrested 1 for illegal discharge of firearms in town of Black Mountain, 1 for stop sign violation, issued 1 war ning citation and 1 for no parking allowed on Church Street and impounded 1 motor bike. Both Missouri and Tennessee touch eight other states!
