Dr. Richard Shelor officiated. Hie bride is the daughter of Mrs. Jack Roberts of Burns ville and the late Phillip M. Thomas. She was given in marriage by her brother, W illiam Randy Thomas. Mr and Mm. Marcus Begley of Black Mountain are parents of the bridegroom. Maid of honor was Diana Quinn of Fletcher. Bridesmaids were Janet Presnell of Burnsville, -Suzanne Sloan of Charlotte, Lisa Thomas of Swannanoa and Ellen Begley Gibson of Cleveland. Best man was Lindsey Wrenn of Greensboro. Ushers were Floyd Brock, Mike Drye, Tony Caudle of Asheville, and Carl Fox of Chapel Hill. Matthew Hicks of Burnsville was the ring bearer and Meredith Begley of Black Mountain, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Hie ceremony was an outside one performed at the home of the bride by the Rev. J.C.Wright, uncle of the bride. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Pearie W. Creasman of Riceville Road, Asheville. She was given in marriage by her brother, Kent Howard Creas man of Asheville. The parents of the bride groom are Mr. and Mrs. Roy L Russell of Swannanoa. Tbe groom's father was his best man. The maid of honor was Meiinda Kaye Creasman of Tampa, Fla., sister of the bride. A reception was heid im mediately foiiowing the ceremony. After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will reside at Summer Haven, Swan nanoa. Licensed to wed Russell Tate Buchanan to Kathy Jean Turner, both of Swannanoa. Charles Franklin Long, Asheville, to Stacey Jean Woodard, Swannanoa. Joy Minnick directed the wedding and Merita Wheeier was in charge of the bride's register. Hie bride has a bachelor's degree in management from the University of North Caro lina at Asheville and is a marketing representative for Gray and Creech Automated Office Systems, Inc. The bridegroom has a bachelor's degree in business administration from UNC Chapel Hill and a juris doctor degree from UNC School of Law. He is a general partner of Brock, Begley and Drye, P.A. The couple will reside on Sunset Drive in Black Moun tain. State strawberry suppliers say the crop will be about two weeks late. There has been some weather damage due to the frosts, but there should be ripe berries around May 15-20. Marray-Doraa say Linda Kay Murray and Robert John Doran of Black Mountain were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7. The ceremony was per formed by the Rev. Charles Cherry in the outdoor chapei at Camp Merri-Mac in Black Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. John Clifford Murray Sr. of Asheboro are parents of the bride. Her father gave her in marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wil liam Doran of Black Mountain are parents of the bridegroom. His father was best man. Maid of honor was Karen Stibling of Asheville. A reception followed in the Fountain Room of Highland Farms in Black Mountain. The bride is a 1976 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in recreation adminis tration. She has completed sports medicine certification at Mars Hill College and is employed by Asheville Re habilitation and Sports Center as sports medicine program director. She plans to attend graduate school through W estem Carolina University. The bridegroom is a 1973 graduate of Owen High School and is employed by C & D Construction, Inc. She is employed as office manager for the Pisgah Chapter of the March of Dimes. The bridegroom is a gradu ate of Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in wildlife biology. He is em ployed as a biologist with the U S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Asheville. Woodward-Long were wed The wedding of Stacey Jean Woodard of Swannanoa and Charles Franklin Long of Asheville took piace at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7. The ceremony was per formed in Biltmore Holiness Temple by the Rev. Joe Saun ders. Given in marriage by her father, Earl William Woodard Sr. of Swannanoa, the bride is also the daughter of the iate Mrs. Woodard.
