Says Tull Morgan Dies In Virginia George A. Gold Writes from Virginia, Saving he Has Cotton Stalk With 300 Bolls. Tii Kditor of The Star. Crewe, Va., Oct. 9.—Just a few lines from Virginia or the Old Do minion. I am living in Nottoway county, Virginia now, near Crewe on the Nor folk anu Western railroad. The rail road shops ure here and this is a nice little town of nearly four thousand population. It is a town of fine churches and schools and a good deal Baptist. There ate some good farms and a pretty country round about. The people are fast beginning to raise cotton and this year would have been a banner year for the staple but for the hard season. It was about the worst I ever saw, but still we have some good cotton, although it is late. I have a real good crop and the best fruited crop I ever saw. I have one stalk with three hundred bolls on it, something I never saw before. I am sorry to hear of the deaths of so many of my old friends down there: John Cline. Bailey Eskridge and Amos Cornwell and our long-time friend T. W. Morgan, died here August 3rd. I know you all remember him, He mar ried Miss Laura Harrelson of Double Shoals back in the ’80s. His wife sur^ vives with 12 children. Let The Star keep coming. This is a letter from GEO. A. GOLD. Mrs. Lipscomb Dies in Gaffney, S. C.
