According to a state ment just published by the state insurance commissioner fire losses in North Carolina for the year 1924 amounted to the enor mous sum of Five Million, three hundred and forty thousand dol lars, with only 40 per cent cov ered by insurance leaving a dead loss of more than 3 million. To day there are thousands of dol lars of valuable property in Cleveland county unprotected by insurance.
