Havana—Juan Ocosta Iznaga, a farmer living near Ciego tie Avila, Camaguey province, is the object of awe on the part of his neighbors. A bolt of lightning killed his horse and knock ed him unconscious. With the first rays of the morning sun, farmers going to town found the apparently lifeless body. A rural car penter was giving the finishing touch es to a rude coffin when a doctor ar rived. After a few minutes of med ical attention Juan opened his eyes, stood up and began talking. One fount! is-1 a case held in the county court Friday, November 6, 1818, State vs Jonathan Coffey. The judgment of the court-Judge Henry Keaw. 11—-was that Coffey stand in the pillory for one hour; at the expiration of that time both cars to be cut off, entirely severed from the head, and be nailed to pillory until the setting oi the sun. It was further adjudged that he be barred from ever testifying in court and that he pay a fine of $10 and tlie costs. It was not stated what the charge was against Coffey but it was, per haps, perjury. Some one properly re marks that if such judgments were customary today that there might be a good many ear-less people around. —A BIG TREAT— DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS IN ‘THE THIEF OF BAGDAD.” A T W E B B THEATRE MONDAY-TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY One of the amazing features of THE THIEF OF BAGDAD is Douglas Fairbanks' dashing ride through the clouds astride a Winged Horse.
