Miss Virgin Sarratte returned to Gaffney Monday to resume her stud ies at Limestone College after spend ing the holidays here with her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Sarratte. Mrs. John Borders was hostess at a beautiful dinner Thursday at her home. An artistic arrangement was made of yellow central decorations, for the prettily appointed table, a delicious course dinner was served. ( Special to The Star) Broad River school re-opened Mon day, having' been closed for the holi days. A large number of their friends gathered at. the hoirte of Misses Ocia and Frances Putman last Thursday evening giving them a delightful surprise party. These young people spent the even ing most pleasantly, remaining un til midnight to ring out the old year anil ring in the new. Misses Oveidn and Ktiia Putnam gave a beautiful party at their home .Saturday evening many interesting games were played and delighful rnus if was furnished during the evening.
