(Statevrlle Landmark) Ronn Drum, who drums up a lot of interesting stuff for the Shelby Star, advises that folks in Shelby and environs, where a real estate boom is booming, are “not worry ing about too much land being plant ed in cotton th.s year. The present outlook,'' says Mr. Drum, “is that much of the cotton acreage .s going into sub-divisions.” From which it is gathered that the Shelby cotton crop of .'1800 bales last year will be much reduced this year, as the cotton patches in the city of springs are be ing sold by the front foot. Weli, may be another season the land will again blossom out in cotton. J. W. Bailey Tells What Land Boom Is "All there is to the booms in Florida and Western North Carolin i is that people have learned to specu late in land on margin iust as they haw always speculated in cottor.and on the stock exchange” is the analy sis of ,1. W. Bailey, Raleigh attorney, in the News and Observer.
