The rainbow color scheme was carried out most beauti fully in the de&rution and refresh ments. The dining room table was a vision of beauty with ks handsome loco piece, •('entering the table was a large silver basket holding pink roses and calendulas. Iloey was a charming hostess on Tuesday afternoon when she entertained delightfully and in formally a few of her friends honer ing Mrs. Neisson and Mrs. Ludlow, two charming women from Winston Salem who have been guests at Cle.e land Springs hotel. The vista from all around is entrancing and under the cool beau tiful pergola, sipping tea and eating elegant dainties and with delightful conversation, the afternoon was most enjoyed among those friends ia an outdoor garden. Davis Extended Many Social Courtesies Mr. and Mrs. Herbert L. Davis who have been the delightful guests at the home of Judge E. Y. Webb for the past week and who leave for their home in Washington, D. C. on Tuesday have been accorded many social courtesies during their stay here. They arrived on last Sunday afternoon and on Mon day Judge and Miss Elizabeth Webb took them on a motor trip to Ashe ville for two days. On Wednesday (vening they were dinner guests of the Webb-Gardners. On Thursday they were guests in Charlotte of Mr. and Mrs. George Blanton for lunch, and dinner guests that evening ut the lovely home of Mr. and Mrs. Jere miah Goff in Meyers Park. They were guests of Judge Webb for the Marion Talley concert on that evening. On Friday they motored to Jugiown with Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Mull. On Friday afternoon Mrs. Davis was one of the guests of honor at the beautiful re ception cl' Mrs. T. W. Hamrick. On Saturday afternoon she shared hon ors with the brides-to-be a, the loveiy tea of Miss Elizabeth Webb. Celebrate* Fourth Birth day Little Pearl Weathers the bright tnd attractive (laughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee B. Weathers celebrated Her iourth birthday by giving a love’y party to 36 of her little friends. The lawn presented a beautiful sight with these charmingly gowned child ren playing many games, and merry laughter ringing out upon the air. The1 silver candle sticks held pink tapers and were tied with the pink tulle. The place cards were bouquets of ruses, and the nut cups were made into rose shapes. An eleeunt and delicious five course luncheon was faultlessly served. At the conclusion of luncheon the honorees were pre sented with the most beautiful hand embroidered linen yotvclc. The dining room table was a work beautiful art. The table was covered with an elegant Chinese embroidered cloth. Centering this was a largo wedding cake frosted with pink and whit" and with nink roses embellished on the sides, in the middle of the cake stood a miniature bride and groom. At the four corners of Da table were placed silver candlestick.; holding pink tuners and on each side silver vases held pink roses. Eneir cling the cake was a wreath of nil- 1 low roses and ferns. The mints ami cakes were heart shaped in the pick ami white colors ;*!,o the sandwiches which were in layer like slices. A delicious punch was served with an ice and sweet course. Serving the re, freshments were: Misses Mae Wash burn, Elizabeth Suttle, Millicent Blan-' tori, and Mathilda Lati more.
