Cleveland Native Dies at Bessemer Mr. Felix Carroll, born and Rear ed in Cleveland County I’ass es Away at He -senu-r City. (Special to The Star.) Bessemer City, Oct. 14.—This community was saddened when i, became known that Mr. Felix Alex ander Carroll had passed away on the night or Wednesday, October Oth, lift'll after an illness of four weeks aged (17 years. Until his re cent illness he was never known to he sick and was always at his work in the large mercantile busi ness conducted by him and his sons, trading as Carroll brothers, lie was a man of a meek and <|uiot disposition, a devoted husband and father, loyal to his church and friends, lie had many friends who mourn Iris departure. The deceased was a native of1 Cleveland county, being reared at the old Carroll home near Shelby, the son of John and Sara Baker Carroll. Only one brother, J. W. Carroll and one sister, Mrs. Mar garet Carroll Sparrow of Clover, S. C. survive him. He is also survived by his widow, who before marriage was Miss Francis Elizabeth Gantt whom he married 52 years ago. And the fol lowing children, Messrs. Ernest and Rufus Carroll, Mrs. H. C. Frone berger, of Bessemer and Mes dames Charlie Ware and Bitn Pat terson of Kings Mountain, Mr. Jo-i Carroll of Montreal, Canada. The funeral was conducted from the home on Thursday morning in 1 charge of Rev. E. I’. Stabler pas tor of the Methodist church, Mr. ! Carroll being a member of that ! church. Revs. R. R. Caldwell, J. L Teague, George Bowman and oth er ministers assisted and spoke ' in the highest terms of the deceas ed.
