Mrs. Drum Gives Beautiful Bridge Party. At her charming now home on the Cleveland Springs road, Mrs. Ronn Drum was a most delightful hostess at a beautiful bridge party on Saturday afie..ioon, at 3:R0 o’clock, honoring her sister, Miss Clara Johnston, of Asheville. Shar ing honors with this attractive hoit orce, were Mrs. T. J. Adams of Gib son, and Mrs. Sam Lat.imore. The rooms were beautifully decornt ed with that popular fall flower the ch’-v<av'»hpmum in all its beautiful colors. These flowers were arrang ed and placed with a most pleasing effect. Five tables were placed for bridge and the place and score cards were Thankrsnving turkey: ■ After the delightful games, the scores were counted, and Mrs. Ah Bennett received a -ovoly gift for high score. One of the most unique' and en joyable parties of the reason was given bv Miss Icon*rose Mull, the beautiful young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Odus Mull on Saturday ev ening at 8:30 o'clock when she en tertained the members of the Hhei by football team ann a number of young girls at the charming Mull home. A delight iu* program had been arranged in a most originu! way. When the guests arrived, Miss Mull iu a most pleasing manner told how thankful they were for the Shelby football team, this being a Thanksgiving party. After this the boys and girls wrote on slips of pa per what they were thankful for and this afforded much merriment. The debate between Miss Charlie Mac Laughridgo and Miss Jennie Lee Packard was the cleverest heard in a long time. Mr. Max Washburn and Mrs. Paul Webb jr., were the judges and the debate, and their decisions were extremely funny. Mr. Washburn proved him |iioif o"'!e an orator oft this occasion. Mr. Odus Mull made the boys a : --* talk and presented each one with a gold football.
