the Cleveland Springs road, Mrs.
Ronn Drum was a most delightful
hostess at a beautiful bridge party
on Saturday afie..ioon, at 3:R0

Miss Mull Entertains
Football Team.
One of the most unique' and en
joyable parties of the reason was
given bv Miss Icon*rose Mull, the
beautiful young daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Odus Mull on Saturday ev
ening at 8:30 o'clock when she en
tertained the members of the Hhei
by football team ann a number of
young girls at the charming Mull
home. A delight iu* program had
been arranged in a most originu!
way. When the guests arrived, Miss
Mull iu a most pleasing manner
told how thankful they were for the
Shelby football team, this being a
Thanksgiving party. After this the
boys and girls wrote on slips of pa
per what they were thankful for
and this afforded much merriment.
The debate between Miss Charlie
Mac Laughridgo and Miss Jennie
Lee Packard was the cleverest
heard in a long time. Mr. Max
Washburn and Mrs. Paul Webb jr.,
were the judges and the debate,
and their decisions were extremely
funny. Mr. Washburn proved him
|iioif o"'!e an orator oft this occasion.
Mr. Odus Mull made the boys a
: --* talk and presented
each one with a gold football.
Ait tar this program, which everyore
j enjoyed, progressive conversation
was played, after which Mrs. Mull
served delicious refreshments. Mrs
| Mull’s table was most beautiful. It

Belwood Win*
Over Casar Twice1
(Special to The Star.)
Neither Belwood nor Clear had
over experienced a football frame
until Friday November 12, when
the Casar eleven met the Belwood
boys in their initial frame on the I
Belwood gridiron. Each team e» I
hibited their ability to handle the ;
pigskin efficiently, although Casar!
made u few costly fumbles, Bel- j
wood’s toucimown iv.iiic when l)o-|
vine caught a long pass from j
I’ropst, the Belwood (piarterbatk, j
in the first ((uniter.. At no time did !
Casar threaten to score during the!
entire game, while Belwood ihreat-|
tned seriously two other times. The j
work of Cook at haif-bark stood |
out pre-eminent through the entire j
game for Belwood as he, time and j
again gained considerable yardage;
through the line and around the
ends. Both teams exhibited a fine
spirit of sportsmanship throughout
the game. Belwood center, Peeler,,
ivas greatly appreciated when he
plunged through the Casar line and
threw them for a loss every time.
Belwood wus victorious the fol
lowing Friday when they motored
to Casar for their second grid
Cook again exhibited his foot
bail ability by running 30 yards fort
*. touchdown, only to be called back'
by the referee because his speed
n*ns temporarily checked by t\vo
Casar piayera which he successful
ly eluded.
