Sev enty-three licenses to wed were issued to white couples. In addition to the divorce cases,! 15 separation agreements have been filed by white couples, making] a grand total of 42 marriaves amongst the whites wrecked since January 1. Comparison of these records shows that more than one divorce or separation case is listed fur every two marriage license:, issued to white couples, Marriage Decline Divorce actions hove shot up ward for the first three months of A 36-15 is the secret of ‘Buick Success *r* Because of the number of Buicks that people buy, you get value in a Buick that simply can not be equalled at the Buick price y y Buick puts the savings of volume—the earnings of lead ership—right back into Buick quality y r That’s why Buick gives the satisfaction it does— why there are more than a million enthusiastic Buick owners y y * J. Ellenboro H«r New Variety Of Cotton Ellenboro.—Hunico-Clevhland is the name of tho new variety of eotton that, will be planted in the Kllenbnro commurnty for the first tone this year by many local farmers, and bv the vocational ag ricultural students of tlie Ellen boro high school who have cotton as one of thpir school projects. More than l.‘!6 bushels of seed have been recently purchased from Lattimore farmers who grew the Humeo-Clevelan(T for the first time last year. Farmers who live in the vicinity of Lattimore nnd who selected to grow this variety last year report that they like it better than the Wnnnamnker - Cleveland, perhaps the leading variety of cotton grown in Rutherford and Cleve land counties. One farmer who planted ten acres to the Humco Cleveland variety last year re ports a yield of fourteen bales. Again thev claim that it is earlier than the Wnnnamaker, and is bet ter adopted to dry weather. The lint will measure one inch, and will not drop out very quickly during storms and rainy weather. Considering that North Caro lina cotton growers need to pro duce more cotton per acre that will sell for a premium price over the cotton produced by the south west growers which is of a short staple, this variety should prove well when grown in Rutherford county.
