May Try A Longer Flight Next Time (By Arthur Brisbane.) It was suggested here that Lind bergh might, in a year or two, make a non-rtop flight over the Pacific, and now comes announcement of his plan to do so. lie would fly to Australia from the Pacific coast, G.511 miles, in a straight line. His flight to Paris covered 3,800 miles, without a stop. A skip of that engine, a slight break, would have put the country in mourning. Kings Mountain came first and Shelby second. Miss Elisabeth Ware, a senior, had the misfortune to fall down th? stairway at the school Monday. She is back at school again with a sprained arm and several bruises. Mrs. Lizzie Falls visited Mr. and Mis. Henderson Long of Gastonia last week. Mr. and Mrs. .T. E. Chester, mining engineer, of Blacksburg, have leased the prop erty of the Economy Home, for merly Piedmont Springs, near Kings Creek, and are preparing to convert the estate into a summer resort, it has been learned. The plans of the lessees, it is understood, call for the erection of a 38-room hotel for temporary use this summer, with a per manent building to be provided later. Work has already been started on a swimming pool, and it is said that the developers in tend to construct a lake that will cover several acres of ground in the early future. Mr. Harris, who is making his headquarters at Blacksburg for the present, has gone to Daytona to bring back a 20-passenger bus and other property that he had in that city.
