Beautiful Reception
By Mrs. A1 Bennett
The Woman's club rooms never
looked more beautiful than on
Tuesday afternoon ffom the hours
of 4:30 to 6 when Mrs. A1 Bennett
■'as the charming and gracious
hostess at a lovely reception hon
oring Mrs. Henry Edwards a most
recent charming bride. The lobby
downstairs was a garden scene
with its rustic baskets filled with
zennias and sun flowers and pe
tunias. In the hall up stairs the
garden flowers made a beautiful
setting, in their summer glory, all
kinds being used in most artistic
array. The punch table was most
attractive with its cool white cloth
covered with a wealth of trailing
ivy in all its beautiful greenery.
In the large assembly room, gar
den beauty greeted the eye. Tall
tustic floor baskets held the
hardy garden flowers, the zennias,
daisies, and gladiolli, vieing with
each other with all their loveli
r.‘ ?. Large silver baskets and
v.’i'es held the most gorgeous sum
mer roses in pink and- red. The
ten table was a study in perfect
art. A large mound centered the
table which was covered with an
exquisite lace cloth. The mound
was made of pink verbenias and
ferns for the base, pink roses and
daisies gradually rose in the een
icr, and from all sides the daio+v
■butterfly bush held its pulple
road. At the four corners ot the
mound, silver bases held tall pale
Pink tapers, softly burning, and
''titering the table, between the
bases were silver dishes holding
e loveliest of home made candids
m the prevailing shades of the
ewers, and also nuts. Greeting
'e guests at the lobby door were
- Is- Minnie Laughridge and Mrs.
forrine Baber- At the door near
