Plumer Thrasher, well known in convict circles here where he once pulled a similar trick, last week es caped from the Gaston county Jail, but h£s been captured. Thereupon, Thrasher, without more ado, drove on off and left the gar age man kicking The latter phoned ahead and had Chief Vernon of Spray arrest the pair in the stolen car. They were ; held there until the local officers ar rived. Chief Vernon recognized the i stolen car by reason of a descrip tion which had been sent him. Thrasher had little to.- say when ' Officer Payne confronted him hut mentioned that he had been drunk j at the time he stole the car. The officers attached little significance to the statement as he said the same thing when he was serft to the roads here for eight months in June for larceny of a car.
