I still rejoice with joy unspeakable anti full tf glory at the Polkviile victory in carrying the election in favor of a central high school lor township No. 8, located :n one fourth of a mile of the chinch and village, As a campaign self-starter, the propaganda was circulated that, either by somebody very economical with the truth or who needs boring for the simples, it would be owned and operated by the Methodist church Had that been the case, I would have fought the measure tc ADMINISTRATOR’S NOTICE Having this day qualified as ad ministrator of the estate of Susan K Withrow, late of Cleveland coun ty, N C. notice is herby given to all persons indebted to said estate to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and all persons having claims against said estate are noti fied to present them to me prop erly proven on or before the 22nc day of September, 1928, or this no tice w ill be pleaded in bar of thei recovery. I a fare-you-well; for I am as much I opposed to sectarian schools as I am to A1 Smith for president. But my opinion does not preclude others from entertaining a contrary opinion. Every man has a perfect ri£ht to be a Methodist. Baptist. Presbyterian, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Mormon, Mohamedan. Budlst or a follower of Confucius or i a Freethinker. People have a right I to vote and express themselves at to how long a term of public school , we have, and for and against taxa tion. He also has a right to prefer ' mudholes up one hill and down | another instead of graded and hard- j surfac'd highways. He. also, lias a I right to own fifteen dogs if he can j feed them and to censure and mal ign any other man who wants i schools to last eight months and ■ teachers to be paid a decent and j living wage. This country is a free I region and freedom should relapse i into license. All children should be i taught that all wisdom abides in a town, and that country hicks < know nothing and can neither write j nor tell anything drawn from the i great repositories of wisdom. . For instance, in the great moral entertainment staged by Col. Jack Dempsey and Admiral Eugene Tun ney—country jays should not en tertain nor express an opinion ak to j Justice of any decision. For instance—when the pet of the prize-fighting ring is knocked cold for 13 seconds in seventh round when taking a count of ten seconds 1 means a knockout—no unwashed 1 untutored and cornfed ignoramus should question a one-sided, jug handled, or provincial decision, if two men were to fight before a fair tribunal and -one was * knocked senseless in seventh round and lay up ler repairs long enough for knockout with three to four sec onds to spare; and was floored again in tenth round; even an intel ligent negro for umpire, the verdie: would have gone to Jack Dempsey, i I was at Lattimore community fair, and saw some good hogs, cat tic and poultry. Some of the hogs, the best ones, were in pens; white these of interior grade were walk ing about and criticising Dempsey,! eight months term of schools, and \ other salutary measures. The ex- ! hihits of domestic science pupils j were cf high order, including fancy needlework, tasty and expert car.- ' ning, floral and shrubbery displays, i etc. My friend, S. G. Price, one cf ] the best informed men and one of I the most public-spirited in county j had a genuine cedar of Lebanon so often mentioned in Holy Writ; also century plants and other rare and tasty ornamental exhibits. Among school features, Mr. Mauney de-1 serves special mention by reason of j a well-selected and well-delivered j declamation; and Miss Heafner j proved herself a very gifted reader and reciter. Both these young people showed that they felt the sentiment of their selections. Some smaiie.' children showed some good features, and a piano solo and duet were ele vating and enjoyable features. The last attraction was a scram bling and butting match known vs football. Col. John L. Sullivan, w hile heavyweight pugilist of tno world, a position he held against a:l ccmers and goers for ten or twelve years—declared it was more dan gerous than prize fighting—and I concur in his opinion. FOR CONSTIPATION Mississippi Man Says He Has Found Hack-Draught So Satisfactory, He Has No Need to Change. Wiggins, Miss.—Mr. A. L. Cone, a well known Wiggins resident, says: "I have used Thedford’s Black Drauglit for constipation. I have never had to take a great deal of medicine, but for folly 30 years I have, by using it, known Black Draught to be a great medicine, and when I found it so satisfactory, I haven’t seen any need to change. "When I get constipated, I feel all out of sorts and tired and sluggish and I take a few doses of Black Draught. It regulates my bowels and I get all right My wife takes more Black-Draught than I do. She is a great believer in it too, so we keep Ft in the house. It will cleanse the system and help you, if yon use it aa we have.” Constipation leads to a great deal of sickness among those who do not understand its dangers, and who neglect to treat it without delay. Black-Draught, with the natural, prompt action of its purely vegeta ble ingredients, quickly relieves constipation and helps to drive out the poisons so aa to leave the organs in a state of healthy activity.
