Storrs, Conn.—A new record seems to be in the training at the Connect ieutt state agricultural col lege here where hens from one end oi the country to another are com peting in an egg-laying contest of twelve months’ duration. The m - ord is being run by hens from Hol lywood Poultry farm, Woodline, Washington. These hens, white Leghorns, had laid 2.399 eggs in a matter of forty-five weeks. and have to lay but 132 eggs in the re maining seven weeks to equal the ! contest record of 2.531 eggs, estab- l lished by hens from C. T- Darby’s chicken ranch at North Branch, U. J The hens from the state of Wash- * ington were laying almost 70 pe: cent at the end of the forty-fifth week.
