_’Sfc BOILING SPRINGS REJOICES OVER JUNIOR COLLEGE THERE Rev. J. M. Walker In Hospital— —Mars Kill Wins—Picnic At Lake Lure, ('lull Meet (Special to The Star.) Boiling Springs. Oct 13.—Mrs. D J. Hamrick and Mrs. Bertha Ham rick most delightfully entertained the Tongues and Needles club and many other invited guests at their home Friday evening. The living room and veranda were lovely with their bounteous array of fall flow ers. The business meeting was neld and new officers were elec ted. Th. y arc as follows: Miss Mable Goode, president: Mrs. M. H. Walker, vice president: Mrs. John Mintz. sen- - tary and treasurer. Other matters of minor importance were discussed. After the business meeting th* hostesses gave an Interesting con test and Mrs. V. H. Hamrick made the fewest mistakes. 8he was givi n an October Issue of a magazine Miss Pauline Woody presided m the piano and gave several delight ful vocal and instrumental numbers. The hostesses assisted by Miss Ber tie Cash, Mrs. Z. O. Holland and Mrs. D. J. Hamrick, served deliclo.es ice cream and cake The nex meeting will be with Miss Estelle Walker.
