It is understood that Bermuda grass seed is being used. —Poultry Expert—Mr. Fort, of the Laro Milling company, will be with the Suttle Hatchery all this week giving instruction in culling and feeding poultry. Mr. Fort is a grad uate of North Carolina State col lege and was picked last year as a member of the college judging team. —Back to Italy—Tony Porcelli,. ice cream vended who has been liv ing on S. LaFayette street for a i number of years, left this morning I with his wife and three children, re . turning to their native Italy for a | visit of three months. Tony says he i will come back and continue his i business here. Mr. McCord is a shoe salesman, representing a Boston house. He as sents that Mississippi and the far Southern territory is full of money, that is to say, with the exception of the flooded area. Miss Carrie Gibbs of Boiling Springs high school spent the week end with her parents near Polk ville. They live on the Cleveland Springs* road. Misses Bessie Brake, Sara Thomas, Ruth Leary and Elizabeth Wilson motored to Charlotte, with Mrs. Tom Gold Saturday, for the day. Miss Ila Mae Bost, who teaches at Cramerton spent the week-end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Bost on S. LaFayette street. Miss Frances Whisnant, who teaches at McAdenville, visited her mother, Mrs. J. F. Whisnant, over the week-end. Miss Lillian Michael and niece, little Hazel Michael, spent the week end with her sister, Mrs. Flay Ham rick. Miss Sara Austell, who teaches in Kings Mountain is spending the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Austell. Mr. Cicero Hoey and little four year-old daughter, Ruth, arrived by motor yesterday from Wilngfington, Del., to spend awhile with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Hoey. Miss Matilda Lattimore, who teaches at Hamlet spent the week end with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. E. B. Lattimore. Miss Mildred Wilson and Robert, jr., accompanied Mrs. W. K. White to North Brook section Sunday, w here they attended a birthday din ner. Mrs. Clyde Short and attractive little daughter, Patsy, have returned home from a two weeks stay with Mrs. Short’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Lee Taylor at Rutherfordton.. Mrs. Horace Michael and two children after spending a month with Mr. and Mrs. Flay Hamrick left Sunday for their home in Ashe ville. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Conner, nieces Gladys and May, attended the ball game in Asheville Saturday. Mr. Max Connor was playing on the Rutherford College team. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Upshaw of Covington, Ga., motored to Shelby Friday to spend the week-end with their daughter. Miss Ruth Upshaw at the home of Mrs. Ceph Blanton. Mrs. Georgia Hickson, who has been visiting in Fayetteville and Tarboro for the past week returned to Shelby Sunday night accompanied by her son, Mr. George Johnson, who will visit her for a few days.
