Crop latsses By Hail Cause Rocky
Mount Farmers To Forward
Reidsville, July 23.—Fifty farmers
from the eastern end of Rocking
ham county came to the chamber of
commerce office here today and
asked Secretary Calhoun to use his
efforts to secure government fi
nancial aid for them as a result of
their recent losses to crops by the
terrific hail storms which have play
ed havoc in many sections of this
county during the past few days
Secretary Calhoun appealed to
Senators Simmons and Overman
and Congressman Stedman. Major
Stedman wired Immediately that
after an investigation he finds that
no relief may be obtained before
the next session of congress
