Monday night at their pretty home
The living room was decorated with
lovely flowers Interesting games
were played during the evening. De
lightful music was rendered on the
victrola throughout the evening.
After the games the guests were in
vited into the dining room where
delicious ice cream and cake were
served. The dining room was dec
orated with dahlias and other sum
mer flowers. Several members of
the B Y. P. U were absent these
were massed. The evening was
greatly enjoyed by every one prev
ent.

Mrs. Kinsey was formerly Miss
Mittie Self daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. Sanford Self who lived in the
Belwood community but left North
Carolina 27 years ago and have
made their home in Oklahoma. Thv;
was Mrs. Kinsey's first visit to hnr
native state since she left with
her parents in her teens for their
home in Oklahoma. Mrs. Kinsey s
a first cousin of Mesdames Blan
ton and McCurry.
Mr. and Mrs Kinsey have bceu
on a visit to relatives of the former
in Oeorgia and other parts of Nor' i
Carolina They have visited relatives
at Belwood thus week and were din
ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Junle
Vaughn on South Washington
street Thursday. This being Mr
Kinsey’s first visit to Shelt^v and
this part of North Carolina he was
very favorably impressed with Shel
by and surrounding country. Mrs
Kinsey was also enjoying her visii
immensely. meeting and greeting
relatives and lriends. They motored
through in their car. They are re-1
turning to their home in Winnie- .
wood the latter part of the week.

Columbia. 8. C , Aug. 7 —Automo
bile license plates for use in South
Carolina in 1930 will be supplied By
the state prison board, of Virginia,
which has been awarded the con
tract by the State Highway Depart
ment. The new plates will have
white numerals on a black back
ground. “South Carolina’’ will be
spelled out underneath the number
and the word “Iodine” will appear
vertically at the extreme right
Under an act at the 1929 session
of the General Assembly all motor
vehicles will be required to displayy
two licenses, one on the front and
one on the rear. The Highway de
partment has ordered that it will
be unlawful to attach the plates
with string or wire. Rules have also
been made requiring operators to
secure duplicate licenses in the case
of loss and to register sales and
transfer of all vehicles and their li
censes with the Highway depart
ment at the time that such sales or
transfer are made.
