ganization, was formed at a special
meeting of 20 school representatives
from Institutions of this section
held here, and officers elected for
the season and a special moating of
the executive committee was an
nounced to be held In Hotel Char
lotte next Tuesday evening at <>
o’clock for the completion of the
ruleA and laws governing the asso
ciation
R. W. Carver, superintendent of
the Hickory city schools and organ
izer of the association, was elected
president. O. W. Bradshaw, super-1
lntendent of the Monrot' city schoul j
was elected vice president. J, Enis I
Cassel, principal of the Concord)
high school, was elected secretary
and treasurer.
The executive committee as elect
ed includes C. L. Hood, principal of.
Mooresville high school; L. E,
Snipes, superintendent of the Ruth- j
ej-fordton Spindale sciaool; C. S.
Warren, superintendent of the Le
noir high school, and W. Fi Staynes,
superintendent of Morgnnton high
school.
The organization was formed for
the better organized athletic sys
tems with the association to include
approximately 20 schools, and v.’lll
be divided Into two conference, an
upper and lower bracket with the
rules of the executive committee to
control both conferences.
Rules will be drawn at. the meet
ing in Charlotte next week and a
special meeting of representatives
from towns and cities represented
in the association will be called
soon for the completion of a sched
ule for the basketball season.
The representatives at the meet
ing here voted to cast aside the
present state rules-nnd draw a com
plete set of laws for the organiza
tion.
Schools to be invited to join the
association include Kings Mountain,
Mooresville, Concord. Statesville
Llncolnton, Lexington. Belmont,
Spencer, Shelby, Hendersonville.
Waynesvtlle. Canton, Morganton,
Marlon, Forest City, Rutherfprdton -
Splndale, Lenoir, Hickory, Newton,
Monroe. Albemarle and several
