Grover School Is Closed For Yuletide Number Of People On The Sick List. State Line Masons Initiate Members. (Special to The Star.) Grover, Dec. 22 —The high school here closed Friday the 20th for the Christmas holidays and the parents of those boys and girls that are away at school and college have them all at home. Mr. H. S. Keeter has recently set himself up to r brand new Chrysler two door sedan. Miss Nellie Keeter of Gastonia spent several days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Keeter this week. Marvin Hamrick and Bruce Roark motored Over to Spartanburg last Saturday. Little Pauline Beam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Beam had a pretty bad case of diptheria last week. Mr. Beam had his other two children inoculated and they es caped. Pauline is about well and the diptheria scare that was caused by this case has about subsided. Mr. Tyree Keeter and Miss Marie Roberts were diner guests of the latter's brother. Rev. Ivan L. Rob erts, pastor of the M. E. church. Hickory on last Sunday. Little D. E. Byers, the adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. D, E. Byers, is quite sick this week with pneu monia. His condition seems to oe improving at this time and the many friends of the family are hoping that he wrill socn be well again. Mr. Burris Keeter and lamuy spent the day last Sunday with the former’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Keeter. Mr. Keeter is making his home in Shelby where he is engag ed In the mercantile business. The Sunbeam band of the Bap tist church will put on a program At the prayer-sei4ice hour Thurs day night. This fine band of little folks axe making a fine record un der the leadership of Miss Esther Furcron and we are sure they will live up to her expectations Thurs day night. Mrs. Bud Bell is still quite sick. She has pneumonia and has been confined to ner bed for nearly two weeks. State Line lodge 375 A. F, and A. M. put on a class of two through the first degree last Wednesday night. This work was very impressively put on by Mr. Fred Green, acting as gTand master in place of A, F. Collins, who is regular grand mas ter. Those taking the work last night were Murray Pruett and Quinn Bell, jave evidence of being made of the right material. Pot tenger, said today, but her condi tion still is serious. Miss Norman has been making a desperate fight against tuberculosis at a sanitarium in Monrovia. Calif., near here, for several months.
