During the social half hour a verv delicious fruit salad with sand wiches, olives, cakes and hot tea was served, using the St. Patriae napkins and souvenirs. Mrs. Stalnaker is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Flay Hamrick ano granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. T O. Hamrick of Shelby and Mr. ano Mrs. John Michael of Asheville. The groom is the son of Mr. ah'? C ' where they will make their home for the present. Afternoon Oivision No. 2 Meets. A very interesting meeting of the afternoon division No. 2 of the Woman’s club was held at the clan room Thursday afternoon at J: JO o'clock with Mesdames W. C. Har ris, J. ft. Robinson and B. L. Sm- h as hostesses, Tito club room was decorated with a profusion of Jon quils and other spring flowers. Mrs. D. Z. Newton, the chairman, presided. The home safety survey was discussed and it was announc ed that the Woman’s club would sponsor an entertainment given by Mrs, John 8. Aiken, a very talente 1 dialect reader, next Friday night j at the Central school auditorium I Mesdames John Lovelace and Hal Whlsnant were welcomed as new members. Mrs. Fred Baber had charge of the following program on "Robert Frost:” Mrs. Thad Ford first sang “Just A’wearln for You'’ by Carrie Jacobs Bond. Mrs. W»il King gave a sketch of Frosts lift Mrs. Shovlpe Beam read the wor* of Frosts before 1020. Miss Mary Helen Lattimore played ’Conceit Etude.’ Mrs. B. O. Hamrick read a paper on New Hampshire. M'*s Carobel Lever closed the program with a humorous reading. The hostesses served a delicious mint ice with cake and nuts carrying oar a color scheme of yellow and green of the decorations.
