Health Hints.
If you should come home to lunch
some day and find your wife Bitting
on the back of a chair talking a
blue streak and saying nothing, she
has parrot fever, unless you hap
pen to be rich, and then It’s Psitta
cosis. A further proof that It Is par
rot fever she’s got Is yours for the
listening If she chirps: "Polly
wants a cracker.’’
Parrot fever is both contagious
and Infectious and Is also ketchlng,
so it Is best not to sleep with a par
rot at all, but If you are one of
those types who thinks so much of
her parrot that she must sleep
with him regardless. It's a good idea
to bathe the said parrot in a pall
of “tick-dip," the cow remedy. How
ever, If your parrot catches cold
easily, It might be okey for you to
take the bath In question rather
than administer it to the bird.
Parrot fever patients should be
permitted-to do all the talking, that

Rabbit fever was discovered prior
to parrot fever. The first symptoms
of rabbit fever Is a red nose, a
black tongue, pink ears and a rest
less spirit. If a person runs when a
dog barks or jumps out of bed
when a gun sheets she’s got rabbit
fever, but If she squalls and squeels
when a dog comes around and wig
gles her head backward and forward
and squints her eyes when a gun
shoots, then she has parrot fever
even tho her symptoms prove that
she has rabbit fever. Always call a
good doctor and a reliable under
taker when both diseases seize a
member of your family at the same
time.

NITROGEN?
Jt*ARMEftS everywhere know that
nitrogen is the fertilizer element that makes plants grow.
But not all farmers know when and how to use nitrogen so as to get
best results. Some use it merely in their mixed fertilizer at planting time.
Others use it as top-dressing or side-dressing after the plants are up.
There are many farmers,‘however, who have found that it pays, and pavs
big, to do both. At planting time they use a complete fertilizer—rich in
nitrogen. Then when the young plants begin to feed heavily, they put out
a side-dressing or top-dressing of Arcadian Sulphate of Ammonia.
It's the nitrogen in the fertilizer applied before growth begins that
gives the young plants a firm stand. And whatever your crop—corn,
grain, fruit or truck products—it’s the nitrogen *in the top-dressing
applied after growth is well started that boosts the stand along to early
maturity and a bumper yield.
These are facts which vou can easily verify by writing to your State
Agricultural Experiment Station or by demonstrating for yourself.
Arcadian comes in triple-ply, moisture-proof bags. It is always fine and
dry, and 4asy to distribute. The nitrogen’s all soluble, all quickly usable
by the plants.
Farmers, let ms know if we can help
To be sure of your supply-order Arcadian from your dealer when you
buy your fertilizer. Farmers everywhere are invited to write to The
