Use just half as much as of ordinary coffee. Taste its delicious flavor today. 41 M Gold Ribbon ( BRAND ) Coffee AND Chicory J ==========- ^ Appeal For, City Taxes To fctfe Taxpayers of Shelby: Unless you have already paid your city taxes, you •re urgently requested to do so at once. Our bills have fob* met. The School Board is in especial need of the ftfftds due them. Unless the taxes are paid in. the ne cessary funds will have to be borrowed. The interest paid on borrowed money does not benefit the. community. On the other hand, it deprives the community of that much service or adds that much *o the tax burden. One way to keep taxes low is to pay the levy on time. Your taxes will have to be paid sometime. Why not pay them now—save the interest and enable the town and school to meet their obligations? r' Yours sincerely, ,J S. A. McMURRY, Mayor. Special Tax Notice The time for filing tax returns for the year 1930 has been extended to Satur day, May 10r Any and all tax payers not listed by that time will be subject to the penalty of 25%’ addition as provided for in the Con solidated Statutes, sec. 7971. It is earnestly requested that all tax payers, avail themselves of the extension oftjme thus allowed. W. R. NEWTON V County Tax Supervisor Poultry Prices WE PAY CASH HEAVY HENS.. LEGHORN HENS.. The burglars met Mrs. Solovy In the hall and escorted her with pis tols Into the apartment. They took the baby from her arms and bound her to a chair. The baby began to cry. The bur glars stopped their burgling and freed Mrs. Solovy's arms, into which they placed the Infant. They fig ured the baby was hungry, so they went to the ice box and got some milk. This they prepared expeitly under Mrs. Solovy's directions. Having reduced the little one to a point of gurgling content, the bur glars gathered up jewelry valued at $1,200 and went away.
